Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou was born in Beaumont in the French city of Puy-de Domme on the 9th of August, 1976. She was the youngest of four children. The parents of Audrey Tautou, both a dental dentist and teacher, were aware of and supported their daughter's passion for theater and drama at an early stage. Their support was more than enough to thwart her initial desire to become the first primatologist. It was a quick rise for her to become a famous young actor. In 1998 after her studies, she was a participant in a French program for scouting talent on TV called Jeunes Premiers sponsored by Canal+ and won Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors prior to beginning acting professionally. Tautou was raised in the context of a Catholic family and attended church, even though she went to school in the Institut Catholique de Paris. Modeling and acting have been interspersed. Tautou was the model of L'Oreal Mont Blanc Chanel, and she is often known as The Chanel Muse. An avid photographer, she produced a recent exhibition during the Arles International Festival titled Superficial. Through her photography, she concentrates on fame and the spotlight. Cameras are focused at journalists, who sat and watched her rise to stardom in Amelie. Audrey Tautou's very first major role, as Amelie Poulain's lead actor in Le Fabuleux d'Amelie, landed her fame to the world. Amelie gained international attention because of its box-office success. It was also praised in award ceremonies all over the world. It's also the biggest French language film ever in the US. The success of this movie led Tautou to a variety of roles, ranging from British dramas like Dirty Pretty Things by Stephen Knight and Jean Pierre Jeunet to Hollywood's The Da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks.
