Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th, 1980) was an American performer, actor as well as a dancer. One of her first Broadway shows included Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. In You Can't Take It With You She was the recipient of the Tony Award as Best Featured actor in the Play. Annaleigh Ashley Tony Award winning actor and actress, has worked with actors and directors both on screen and stage for her entire career. Ashford in the near future will play opposite Kumail in Robert Siegel's Hulu-exclusive series Welcome to Chippendales which premieres on November 22nd. Ashford is currently filming on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust which stars Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. This film is a Hulu Original and will be streaming on Disney DTC. Ashford will be seen opposite Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre during the march 2023 production of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will form the team of creators for the musical. Ashford has been seen most recently as Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the National Crisis that saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the middle of the country's First Impeachment Proceedings during the Over 100 Years. Ashford appeared for two seasons in CBS hit comedy B Positive. It was developed by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre it also featured legendary actor Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No stranger to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her portrayal of Essie as Essie in You Can't Take It with You. Additional Broadway credits for Ashford include Sunday in the Park, in which she starred with George Wicked legally Blonde, and the role of Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this role, she earned an Tony Award nomination. Ashford splits her life between Los Angeles & New York. Her birthplace was in Denver and was raised in Denver.
